The firm is managed and operated by its partners and associates, who merged their individual legal and financial services practices in 2009. Although consisting of professionals having different personalities and personal pursuits, the Valletta Legal team has a unified approach to the running of the firm, which is based on the principle of maintaining the highest standards of work ethics and practices.
Our team of leading lawyers and staff includes:PARTNERS
- Mark Bencini, B.A., M.A. (Fin. Serv.), LL.D., Dip. Tax
Mark is our youngest partner. His days are mostly spent dissecting contracts, dealing with intellectual property issues, devising fiscal or corporate strategies and advising foreign high net worth clients about residency issues and tax planning. 
For the last twenty years, Reuben has specialised in commercial law and counts some of Malta’s largest corporate groups as long-term clients. He has also served on the boards, both as member and as Chairman, of national regulatory authorities.
- Tanya Sciberras Camilleri, LL.D.
Our head litigator, Tanya, brings fifteen years of experience in planning matters to the firm and represents clients before the various boards dealing with development matters in Malta. She also advises clients on property, patrimonial and corporate issues.
AnnaMaria joined the firm in December 2011. She initially gained experience vetting titles to immovable property and now practises mainly in corporate law, financial services and compliance. Anna Maria was admitted as Partner of the firm in 2022.
ASSOCIATES
- Marija Caruana, LL.D.
Property Law and Intellectual PropertyMarija joined the firm in December 2015. She is mainly interested in Civil Law matters and at present is involved in property law issues at the firm. In March 2016, she was admitted to the Maltese Bar and is a member of the Chamber of Advocates.
- Litigation, Civil Law & Property Law
Darren joined the firm in July 2019. His main areas of practice are Litigation and Civil Law. Immediately prior to joining Valletta Legal, Darren furthered his academic studies by reading for a Master of Laws in Transnational Crime & Justice, an international criminal and human rights law based programme in Turin (Italy).

Luana joined the firm in 2019 as a legal intern, and has since obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours degree in 2018 following her dissertation entitled 'Can the spreading of false news as a criminal offence hinder freedom of expression?' and has also been awarded a Masters of Advocacy degree in December 2019. She is mostly interested in local litigation, particularly civil law matters. Her main areas of practice within the firm are family law, employment law and data protection.
Miriana joined the firm as a legal intern in 2019. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours degree from the University of Malta in 2018, after submitting a term paper entitled ‘Malta as an online gaming hub: to what extent is cybercrime being defied in this ever-growing sector?’ She furthered her academic studies at the University of Malta and was awarded a Masters of Advocacy degree in November 2019
ACCOUNTS
- Accountant Executive
Antonia joined the firm in October 2017. She was initially responsible for the firm’s reception and day-to-day administration and is now a member of the accounts department. She likes to spend her free time with family and friends and enjoys drawing and travelling.
- Accountant Executive
Claire is highly experienced in her field and leads the accounts department at Valletta Legal. She joined the firm early in 2021 and is responsible for managing both the internal accounts of the Group as well as the accounts of our various clients. ADMINISTRATION
- Administration Executive
Alexandra joined Valletta Legal straight out of University in 2022, having obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Language Technology. As the office administrator and receptionist, she manages meetings and appointments and is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the firm.
