• LEGAL NOTICE 204 of 2020 – CLOSURE OF PLACES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (Amendment No. 3) ORDER – 22.05.2020

  • The mandatory closure of restaurants, cafeterias, snack bars and clubs has been lifted in terms of this Legal Notice as from 22.05.2020.

    However, the following establishments will remain closed -  bars, cinemas, gymnasiums, museums, exhibitions, discotheques, night clubs, indoor swimming pools, massage parlours, gaming premises, bingo halls, casinos and betting shops.

    This legal notice also provides for safety guidelines which restaurants, cafeterias and snack bars must follow. Those premises which have outdoor seating facilities shall principally, and as fa as practicable, provide their services to their clients outdoors.

    On the other hand, those restaurants, cafeterias, snack bars and clubs which do not have outdoor seating facilities, may still provide their services to clients indoors, but at a reduced capacity, and always applying measures of social distancing.

    It is worth noting that these businesses are still allowed to provide for delivery and take-away services to the community, and those situated in hotels may continue providing room service to hotel guests as well.

    Gaming parlours may also open, however solely and exclusively to provide sports betting through the till. No other service may be provided at this time, and clients are not to remain inside the gaming parlours after availing themselves of sports betting services.
