This Act has granted the Superintendent of Public Health extra powers to prescribe measures for the prevention or mitigation of diseases, and also to provide for any matter which would result as a consequence of her orders.

Persons who breach any order issued by the Superintendent of Public Health, which are scheduled in the Commissioners for Justice Act shall be liable for a fine between €1000 and €10,000. If the person is not habitually resident in Malta, any penalty not contested shall be paid in its minimum through electronic means within 12 hours of notification.
